Located in the cooler climate of the Macedon Ranges, just north of Melbourne, with winter snowfalls and log fires – Holgate Brewhouse is in the ideal environment to capture the style, flavour and atmosphere of traditional northern European beer styles. The company is headed up by husband and wife team – Paul and Natasha Holgate – who conceived their vision of a brewery/pub/restaurant complex after travelling in Europe and the USA. The burgeoning tourist and winery area of the Macedon Ranges, where the Holgates live, seemed an ideal location and the brewery operations started in 1999 after a couple of years of research and development.
